This month our duo turned trio bookclub is reading Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet . You guys still have time to join for this month, or in the future if you like!

This entry will serve as the discussion post. We generally read a section of the book every week and post discussions on Sunday.

I'm still not exactly sure if we're starting the book this week or next. I'm not sure what everyone wants to do? *pokes [livejournal.com profile] kehlen_crow and [livejournal.com profile] phenomenal * . Do you guys want to start this week or next? I'm not sure if I have a preference. When you give me the answer, I'll come up with a reading schedule.

The Schedule:

Week 1 (Jan 11-17): Pages 1-109 (last chapter is entitled "Tea")

Week 2 (Jan 18-24): Pages 110-202 (last chapter is entitled "Moving")

Week 3 (Jan 25-31): Pages 203-290

Very astute observations. Something I'd miss.

I'm not sure if "black" was the vernacular in the 40s. I believe the polite word in those days was "negro".

I don't think anyone really uses "Caucasian" in real life. It's most common these days to just use "white" and "black".

I have heard so, too. Those are not very important anyway, just something I fixate on when reading.
