You have given me a new home, and I consider you my home. Though I am still unsure if you are as beautiful as my OG home. Trade the calm and temperate weather for your moody variance. I've been told the weather in your parts are far better than the rest of Texas, but tell that to me when it's 100 degrees outside and I don't really want to leave the house.
Trade the rolling vineyards for your rolling hills that surrounds me. I have the best view in town, I can't forget that.
Trade shopping malls, restaurants, and civilization for a few food trucks and Mexican Restaurants. To have some variety, we have to travel to civilization over 2 hours away.
Trade some occasional house spiders and beetles that have wandered indoors for more dangerous creepy-crawlies that make their way in. Like the one who skittered across my bare leg within the first week of me moving.

What is a javelina? I saw a herd my first day with you. They are so cute, but also dangerous and may want to kill you.

I was asked to feed the ferals, and received a bag of cat food as a welcoming present from my neighbors. I didn't know they would become our best friends, and we would adopt two of them.

At some point there were so many kittens, that I had to do something. I contacted the local branch of the Humane Society, and through their help I trapped spayed/neutered and released 20 cats. It's something I do to help you for letting me live here. I contribute in the way I can, and I care very much about my little friends you've provided.
You've given me a job in my career that I have been working towards for a long time, but I've found it is a toxic work place and I would like to leave. In that, you've also given my partner a job and a way to permanently live together after a 13-year long-distance relationship.
You are truly beautiful especially in the summer time when the rains are absorbed by your desert and everything is lush and green. You feel more like Ireland at those times, than the Chihuahua desert that you are.

You've given me a home, but please don't consider me ungrateful that I want to leave you. I feel like my time with you is up and I need to leave soon. I will pass through you like the swallows that nest in the corner of your buildings. You gently provide a place for them to stay , until perched on your fingers, they fly off towards the sunset. They will return, and so will I. I may not nest with you any longer, but I will always want to see you again.

Date: 2019-01-03 05:20 pm (UTC)My coworker ran the best food truck in town with his ex wife, but unfortunately the food truck spelled the end of their very brief marriage and now it is no longer. There are still a few good food trucks in town, and in the neighboring town of Marfa. I think Anthony Bordain went to a food truck in Marfa shortly before he died and this episode will be aired soon.
