LOLI HO!!!
Mar. 26th, 2006 06:29 pmThis is only about FF. The next post will be about other boring stuff!
XD. I've been really into old sk00l FF recently! I just finally beat FF IV a couple of days ago and am now working on ffI.I heard FFVI was the best of the old school and I have really been wanting to try that out, but so far I'd had fun with the GBA ports of 4 and 6 : ).
In 4, I loved the dwarves and their LOLI HOOOs XD. I'm obsessed with saying that now. I need an icon with little dwarf sprites with "LOLI HOO" underneath! I thinnk I might make that . haha. Also I really like Cid(icon)! He was really the most powerful character in the game and it's a shame he had to "die" for a while and couldn't be used. He was my favorite character XD. My final team was Cid, Rosa, and Cecil. ONLY them because the other two didn't have enough HPs to face Zeromus' strongest attack and finally I decided on my last try to just not revive them at all because it was pointless. I didn't like much of the rest of the characters in the game... did like Kain quite a bit! He had the cutest sprite and looked really hawt when he took his mask of and such. Cecil looked tons cooler as a dark knight :|. The story itself was beyond me. I don't understand storylines in rpgs at all because I typically don't play games with complicated story lines. I'm glad that Fire Emblem did such a good job in presenting its story with lots of gorgeous artwork and such. I understood most of it. Not FFIV. Something about this evil lord on the moon taking control of powerful men on earth and turning them into his minions using energy from these crystals(so are crystals the basis of ALL FF games?). FFIV really was the second FF game I've played. First was tactics :p... and I tend to like strategy games a bit better. I thought the ending of the game was really cute. I tend to get lost quite a bit during rpgs and I am morally against guides so every time I got lost, I asked Justin what to do and I think he looked up the info for me XD. Overall, very good game! I'm surprised I never played FF before this game :p.
Now I've been obsessed with FFI Advance. That game is really different and interesting. First of all, you get to pick the classes of your 4 characters out of a possible 7(I think) classes.
-white mage
-black mage
-red mage(can do BOTH white and black magic, but not the higher level spells)
-warrior(typical well-balanced human)
-MONK(very traditional strong physical character)
-Thief(well, traditionally s are pretty fast and evasive : ) )
also you get to pick names out of a set of names... you can't really create your own names. My team is this
Red mage(Tot)
White mage(Sherko)
Thief(Baku)
Monk(Duncan)
At the beginning, my red mage owned everyone. He was the strongest physically and had the best defense AND could use magic. But then Duncan caught up XD. You know, at some point in the game you're supposed to *unequip* the monk from all his accessories and let him go at it bare-fisted. He gets to be your strongest character. Duncan's pretty awsome XD.
You also have to buy spells for your characters and your characters can't use all the spells available in the game. I'm disappointed that my white mage can't learn this particular move that would do awsome damage to all undeads... the white mage's ONLY physical attack XD.
One thing I don't like about the game is that there is no airship... at least not to where I am, which is pretty well into the game. There is a pirate ship that you sail around on with no map. You know, on NPR they were doing this speical on "science friday" about how males minds and female minds are different... one of the few things i remember is the difference between male minds and female minds when it comes to judging spacial distances and capacities as well as maps. Females are supposed to be worse than males at this. Yeah, i agree with that because I happen to really suck at that. When I'm in the dungeons or world map, I always forget where I've been and end up wandering to the same place over and over again :|. Maybe everyone is like this, but sailing on that world map is especially torturous for me! I can't remember where anything is! I spent an hour this morning sailing and trying to find a place that sold antidotes. Really >_<. And unlike ff4, I seldom run away from battles because now, my characters can kill most enemies with one hit. My chracters are level 34 right now and I have one crystal... if anyone is familiar with that :p. If not, it really isn't normal for my characters to be at such a high level.
Yeah, so I'm having a really fun time with these old games ^_^. Next will be FFII and then I might have to emulate ffVI. I don't like emulating and would rather play it on my GBA, but according to Justin, the FFVI port will be on the DS :|. Booo. I probably will never buy a DS >_<.
I think I'll make a new post, so anyone who doesn't like FF can skip this post in it's entirety.
