Otakon

Brian just called me up a couple minutes ago. He wanted to make sure I knew that Otakon was in just two weeks and make sure I was still intending to go with him. We are planning to go and I've never been to Otakon before. I've been to anime cons, and this is his first one, so hopefully he will have a good time. I think he will, though. I know what to expect, more or less, so I'm sure I'll have a great time too.

I actually thought Otakon was sometime in August, so I'm kinda surprised that it's the last weekend of July. lol, just the other day Brian and I were making plans for me to come visit him the weekend after next and then he was like "Do you still want to come over even though Otakon is so soon?" I said I did.

Is anyone here planning to go to Otakon?

Otherwise, not much else is up. Justin left last night, which suuucks, but there is a chance I can see him in September, so hopefully that can happen. He's out sick today because he was allergic to something in my apt, got some kind of nasty sinus problem and the airplane made it worse. Poor thing. We got a blender and I've been making lots of milkshakes. I need to figure out how to make smoothies, though. I'd love to make a yummy strawberry banana smoothie. It would be healthier than a milkshake anyway. He's a very good cook and I'm gunna miss him cooking for me. I need to get back on a better diet, though. I gained 6 lbs with all the bad eating I've been doing with friends visiting me for a month now. Then I need to lose about 20 lbs on top of that at least. *sigh*. I need to find a diet I actually will not mind. In the mean time, I'll just try more walks though the woods. I do enjoy that. I just don't like dieting very much :/.

We did end up seeing Brave. I liked it a lot. I like Merda a lot. She's so cute and spunky! It's been so hot here that airplanes are literally sinking into the tarmac and trains are derailing because the rails are melting. I'm so glad it's cooling down a little this week because this is ridiculous.

30 Day Meme- which I will not spend 30 days on.

30 Day Meme...

1. Your name

Yelizaveta. Or Liza, Lisa, Arky.

2. All the places you’ve lived

Moscow, Russia - I lived here until I was 5 years old. I don't remember it. I'm sure it was very cold : ).

Denver, Colorado - We immigrated here. For the first couple years we lived in an apartment within the city proper, then moved just outside the city to a suburb then called "unincorporated Denver". Maybe now it has a proper name. I learned how to ski here at the age of six. In Colorado, you kind of have to grow up skiing or you are really uncool :p. I liked living here. Lots of snow days and lots of fresh air. Actually Colorado is one of the healthiest states in the union.... interestingly enough

Santa Rosa, CA - Lived here for about 7 years and my parents still live here. A somewhat podunk town an hour north of San Francisco. My dad found a job nearby and have stayed in Northern California ever since. Santa Rosa is a really great place. It's scenic and has awesome weather... no snow days, though.

Santa Cruz, CA - Went to Undergrad here. An expensive beach town several hours south of Santa Rosa. I liked it here. Campus was very pretty, I enjoyed the arcade a lot. I enjoyed the beaches and the woods... nice place to go to school

San Jose, CA - My final year of undergrad, I moved to San Jose to live with my dad in an apt when he found a job in the area. He lived with me for half the week (though I hardly saw him at all) and spent half the week up in Santa Rosa. It's a pretty big town for once and I liked living there. Lots of tastey Asian food, good fun, fun things to do. I lived in this Suburb called "Campbell" for two years, then down the road about 2 miles in San Jose proper when I came back from Japan.

Numazu, Japan - Great town! I loved it there. It wasn't too big, wasn't too small. Population of about 200,000 people. It's on the Izu Peninsula, if you know where that is. Very pretty views of Mt. Fuji every winter. I rode my bike everywhere. I liked riding it along the trail by the beach. It was just awesome because it was Japan, mostly. It was a typical mid-sized Japanese town. Nothing terribly special, not Kyoto, but a fun place to live.

Interlochen, Michigan - I was here for 3 months in the "spring" doing an internship. It's this tiny, tiny little town in the middle of the woods. Very sparse. I didn't have a car, mostly I entertained myself. I'm glad I was good friends with my coworker. She ended up driving me places if I needed to go somewhere : ). I loved how it snowed tons in the middle of April. It made me super happy. It was really fun there. I loved the experience.

Lanham, MD- I've been here for the last 3 months and I'll be here for at least a year. It's a suburb of DC. It's pretty fun. I kind of hate how the weather is like this summer, but that's all I really have to complain about. It doesn't quite have the culinary diversity that San Jose had, but it's fine. I guess I better learn how to cook more or something.

3. Your first best friend

It was this girl I was friends with when I was in Russia. I don't really remember her name. We played a lot together. Dad told me once we had this brawl on the metro when dad was supervising and we were in our snow suits and suddenly we were on the floor, tackling each other. Dad said he felt like a bear dealing with unruly cubs as he picked us both up by our snowsuits with each hand and separated us XD.

4. Your childhood fears

I'm pretty unfearful. I'd probably say my mother. She's kind of volatile and temperamental XD;

5. What you were like in high school

One word. CRA-ZY. I was very hyper. When I wasn't very hyper, I was very depressed. I founded the "Raineer Club" which meant running around in the rain and splashing through puddles. I just had too much pent up energy and ran around a lot during lunch. I also liked throwing food at the wall. I did pretty well in school overall, except maybe in PE although I did join the badminton team. I was a band nerd for all 4 years and had a lot of fun there. I was never popular at all and I was kind of made fun of for being so hyper early on. I calmed down a little bit when I hit my junior year, but I was still pretty crazy for most of it.

6. Your favourite and least favourite subjects at school

Favorite was band. Have a lot of fun memories in band. It was just very fun and I loved the experience. Least favorite was PE. For some reason, I'd always be made fun of a lot in my PE class because I always seemed to be stuck with really snotty kids in PE. Once the teacher yelled at the class for making fun of me. I really appreciated that because the kids actually did listen to her.

7. Your first boyfriend or girlfriend

I don't think TG really counts, so Justin. Hah, I'm still with the looooooser :p. Yeah, he's my first boyfriend and bestest friend ever all at once. We've been together for about 8 years now... how time flies. It sucks that the entire relationship has been long distance, but I guess that's how it happens...

8. Your oldest hobby

Nintendo. I love Nintendo, it's still my biggest hobby. I like games in general, it's just nintendo in particular I adore. I've owned all the major consoles since the SNES and I'm a very loyal fan.

9. Your sexuality

Hetero. Not much to say about that...

10. What you look for in a partner

Ability to laugh and not take themselves too seriously. Being a nice boy. Not being incredibly emo and having a positive outlook on life. Being taller than me. Humbleness. Being able to put up with my moodiness.

11. Your kids, or your feelings about having kids
12. Your pets, past and present
13. Foods you love and foods you hate
14. What your life was like ten years ago
15. How much alcohol you drink
16. Your worst illness
17. What you do at work
18. A question or comment people should never make to you
19. The style of clothing you feel most comfortable in
20. Whether you’re an extrovert or an introvert
21. Who you have a crush on
22. A friendship you lost
23. Three achievements you’re proud of
24. Your political views
25. Your religious beliefs
26. Your perfect night out
27. Whether you like to plan ahead or be spontaneous
28. What you look for in a friend
29. Whether you’re a night owl or a morning lark
30. How you would like people to remember you
