Or has it been a year already? Wow... I don't know what made me come back to this thing. I guess that I wanted to document the stay of the Japanese exchange students.... but they're all gone now. So maybe I'll try to summarize 2 weeks in a few entries. Hmmm... I'll just forget about my whole Junior year! It was too stressful anyway : ). I gotta try hard not to get stressed this next year. Anyway! Here's the first couple days of the exchange students stay...

Because I wanted to always see Yosemite National park and the exchange students were arriving from there, I went with a friend of mine who went to Japan last year. He's really nice and cool to talk to because we both like nintendo a whole lot, BUT I hate his music ^_^*. I had to listen to rap/noise for 6 hours. It wasn't really blasting though, so I didn't mind so much. So the car ride was pretty fun. I got to be navigator *did a good job*.

When we got to Yosemite, we were about 3 hours early and then I saw Michael. Michael was the group leader for my Japan trip last year... and he isn't the greatest company to say the least. Well, I met my host sister there, assuming she knew pretty good English from the E-mail she sent me, but I found out she didn't ^_^*. I guess I shouldn't be surprised because she's only 13. Her name is Kumi. Turned out Wakana( a girl I knew in Kagoshima!!) wrote the e-mail for her ^_^. Her and another girl in the tent(Sachiko) collaborated to communicate with me. Since my Japanese was surprisingly better than her English... she got me to work quite a bit!

Also in Yosemite... I because very good friends with one of the girls... Naoko. Her English was VERY good too. She's a pretty big bookworm ^_^. We had to go on this REALLY long hike up to one of Yosemite's biggest waterfalls, and she got me up there! I didn't think I'd make it! Thoughout her stay, she was a grat teacher, teaching me loads of Japanese and two songs I learned by heart and performed with her. After the waterfall hike, we played in the river for the rest of the day. I learned that Naoko... really likes pinecones 0__o. Hehe. It has to do with a Japanese tradition.

Kay... on Sunday we took Kumi to see our semi-local lighthouse. It's really cool. There are a lot of whales there too... but none when we went. Wasn't the season. I was dissapointed. I really wanted her to see the whales. Hmm... on Monday we went Ice-skating and I was real careful and actually didn't fall! Yay for me!! Then came the SanFransisco overnight 0__o.Well that was FUN! I was real pissed though. I was involved in this scam where there was this Sen to Chihiro(newest Miyazaki movie) VCD I bought. The lady said it had Chinese/Japanese/English on it, but it only had Cantonese. -______-. It was like the only thing I bought too. We went to the pier, the Golden Gate Bridge, and China town. I liked that trip a lot.

What else did we do?? Hmm... we went to the beach! Our gropu got split though. I climbed this big rock... all the way to the top! I was really proud of myself ^_^*. No one else was brave enough to. We also went to Jack London State park. Man... it's really sad how he died and his great house burned down : (. I bought a post card with this GREAT quote from him. Maybe I'll post it later. We also went to Scandia( a TINY amusmant park). With a big arcade, miniature golf, and go-carts. I spent all my time in the arcade. There I discovered para para. I'm so addicted to it now. Spent quite a lot of money on it ^_^*. The last day we went to spring lake park and I jumped out of the boat into the very dirty... Spring lake!Everyone was like "Lisa! What happened?! Did you fall out of the boat?!" And I was like "more like jumped : )". It really didn't take long at all for my clothes to dry. I gave the girls in my boat a BIG laugh. "Lisa, you're so funny!!" Hehe.. they found me VERY amusing 0_o when I began to loosen up and feel secure enough to hehe... show them a part of my "true self". Well, that's about all that they did that was fun anyway. *doesn't feel like talking about the baseball game -_-*. I will talk about the Japanese kids next time...
