I'm going to save more angsting about how much I suck at school/with my major, but just this morning I was looking around just to see if what I thought was true actually was- If the only major I could take for studying Japanese was language studies, and lo and behond, I was wrong.

I believe there is an "East Asian Studies" minor along with that, which means that you take a few classes about, in my case, Japanese history along with studying the language. It seems like the dumbed down version of language studies, because for language studies, you have to take 5 history classes anyway!

I don't know. I will definitely fail Japanese(unless those rumors are true about her never failing students she likes, and I really really doubt it), probably fail Language Change, and have a slight chance to pass syntatic structures. I hate sytax and want it to die and I don't think I can ever force myself to take the class ever again. I really hate it that much :|. I like calculous even more that it. blah. Maybe even Econ. Even though those classes were boring as hell, I still did almost no work and still got a C.

Ok I lied so maybe there was a bit more angst. LOL.

I didn't sleep last night so I went early to Syntax. The class before me was modern Russian history, and I realllly wanna take it. It's so interesting. There was an annoying student in that class. Like, one of those students who always converses with the teacher and always asks annoying questions which take the teacher's time(which may or may not really pertain to the lecture). He was Ukranian and was all like "omg I am really anti Russia, but I understand what is happening with the Chehnians and the Russians is two-sided", so after class, I asked him to explain a little cause I didn't understand a lot about the Chechnian problems- basically, why it was happening. So he lectured me for 15 minutes about it before my class started and the teacher kicked him out. I think that I believe everything he told me, but am a little curious about more details maybe.

Maybe I'll write about that later. I also want to write about the latest hype of the mass media- "Deep throat being revealed" which pisses me off almost as much as Reagan's death being on the news for like a month :|. Also about Mike Savage. I haven't written an informative post in a while... maybe I will. For now I like being a lj whore because it distracts me from being very angsty and depressed XD.

I was going to minor in east asian studies, but then I failed japn001 and got all depressed. I took the core class, Making of Modern East Asia. The professor I had (Alan Christy) was really cool. His wife teaches the Japanese Pop Culture class, which is ridiculously popular.

Deep throat? Like, the porn? My dirty hippy commune doesn't really get the news.

you know, when I first heard his name, I thought the same exact thing. He's actually this guy who exposed Nixon for watergate... was a big-time FBI agent. And he lives in my home town. He's quite old now. NO idea why he decided to come out with it now, like 30 years after the fact, but whatever.

It annoys me because I really like President Nixon ~_~. I don't like crap about watergate STILL coming up 30 years later, because it's all anyone seems to think about whenever his name is brought up. gr.
