zaichikarkyI just was thinking of my history with computers ^_^*. Because lately I've been playing solitaire a LOT and I just remembered that it was all I used to really spend my time doing during my early computer days.
We got a computer for the first time in my first house in the Denver suburbs... I was 8 years old. So like any kid, I liked computer games XD. My first games ever were peecee games, *can't run from the past, ahh*. But peecee games were different back then, really! I was kept very entertained with Wolfenstein(I was the first to beat it! Gah, I can still remember the german the last boss used). I'd love to play Wolfenstein again, I swear, I haven't touched that game since I was like 9... Anyway, so Wolfenstien was one of my first games and I moved up to Doom. I could never beat that one though ^_^*. Heh, Doom was a hard game -_-. There was also this game AHH... can't remember it! Wait *memory clears*. Duke Nukem. Heh... I loved that game as well. And then I ofund my true love: Commander Keen. It was the BEST doscrap game ever, I swear. I loved it ;__;. Just recently, I found it through a napster clone and I beat the first one. It was a nice "trip down memory lane" XD. I loved Commander Keen to pieces XD. After that... we moved. No computer for a while, heh...
No computer for a few years... until I was 12 years old, i honestly can say there was no computer presence in my life. No more games, nothing. When I was 12, I got internet for the first time. My mom's work gave her this laptop, and suddenly it became the family computer. Now, this thing was a piece of CRAP toshiba and we had a 28 k modem, that was okay though... The first thing I remember doing on the internet was checking out Star Wars sites 0_o. Hehe... My friends at the time were OBSESSIVE over Star Wars, and well, I guess they got me to obsess too... Somewhere around age 12 or 13, I wandered onto yahoo chat for the first time... There, I think I made my first online friend... for about 2 days.
we did nothing but spam yahoo chat, more specifically, Star Wars chats. His name was borg_assimilater . And I think it was misspelled in some way XD. It was gerat fun. We'd go into Star Wars rooms and do something like... "WE ARE THE BORG, YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. WE ARE THE BORG, YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. WE ARE THE BORG, YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. WE ARE THE BORG, YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. WE ARE THE BORG, YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. Hehe, oh it was madness... it was great XD. I still use the spamming commands that I learned from that... control c and control v!!
Anyway, when I was 13, I abandoned Star Wars because... pokemon came out. Heh... everything after that is history... I surfed the net for pokemon websites all over the place.... My best finds were Team Rocket Headquarters( both versions of it..., at first I didn't even like the more well-known version-Josh's TRHQ) and the UP network... and of course, Team Rocket Palace, which became my first message board...
So I've been message-boarding ever since. I rarely use the computer to play games because I don't believe in emulation, and I just chat now... That is my wonderful history ^_______^.
Dammit... I think I have to go vacum clean now -_-
