Another day at work
More writing in here due to boredom. There's only so many thousands of folders you can refolder...
Anyway, I'm just here to say that I am mad obsessed with REO Speedwagon. I love them soooo much, especially their frontman, Kevin Cronin who's 63 now (but looks great for his age!) and super adorable. Just very happy and cheesy and all of their videos from the 80s are just so incredibly cringe-worthy. Each one is worse than the last. Some of them are just so bad that I can't really watch certain scenes. They're just embarrassing. I'm just wondering how no one in that band was like "hey guys don't you think this is a little too cheesy, even for the 80s??" I guess not. I listen to the same songs over and over every day and I can't get enough of Kevin and his giant 80s fro and how dorky and excitable he is <3. There's some popular concert footage from the early 80s, before he even wrote "Can't Fight This Feeling" and it looks like he wore his pajamas to this concert:
Then there's the silly interview where his kid embarrasses him horribly. Poor Kevin he looks sooooo shocked and mortified!
Ok, one more when Kevin wrote Can't Fight This Feeling, the band did some footage of their practice session and it's just so cute.
There are only 2 guys left in the oldskool REO lineup: Kevin and the pianist. Sadly the lead guitarist, Gary Richrath had some problems and left the band and now he just looks kind of sick and can't play so well anymore. A bunch of people on the internet argue that Kevin stole the band away and all the talent laid with Gary and blah blah, but honestly Kevin put the band on the map. He wrote all the band's biggest hits and it's clear how much emotion and passion he puts into the music. Kevin himself can't sing as well as he used to. He can't hit those huge notes anymore. He used to sing super big, but I guess he can't do that now and sometimes it just doesn't sound good at all. I still want to see REO in concert very badly. Maybe some day.
